Our Story.

What is RTS?

Run The Streets is a mentoring program which uses long distance running as a vehicle for change with youth. The Program is open to grades 6-12. Youth will train with adult mentors to run a half-marathon after 11 weeks of training.

How does RTS train?

During the season, youth and mentors log approximately 130 miles together in training.

We train three days per week:

  • Tuesdays in collective running groups at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Thursdays in collective running groups at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Saturday mornings with the entire group at 7:30 a.m.

Do youth runners pay to participate in the program?

No, youth runners are provided everything they need, from shoes to race registration fees, to attain their goal of finishing a half marathon with RTS.

Run the Streets is funded by private donations and our annual RTS Woolaroc 8k. Please consider donating so we can continue to provide our program at no cost to our youth.
